Dealing with an online business through your WooCommerce website requires a lot of effort. One important step of the whole process is to contain and save your WooCommerce orders regularly, not only to keep track of them but to have a fail safe backup if something is to break or happen in the future.

That is the main reason why we are writing this article to explain 3 ways to export the orders from your WooCommerce website as easily as possible.

Step 1. Navigate to your WooCommerce Dashboard Menu.

To begin the process, first you need to log into the dashboard of your WooCommerce website. Afterwards, navigate to the WooCommerce menu (1) and Reports (2) section:

From there you can see all the orders with different categories and sections. You can choose the specific time frame to sum up all of the orders made on your WooCommerce website and export them in the desired format.

Keep in mind that the built-in WooCommerce feature has the option to list and keep statistics for all orders, customers and stock inventory for your online business.

Orders section contains data divided by:

Sales by date – to the specific timestamp, number of overall sales;

Sales by product – to the specific product, number of overall sold products;

Sales by category – to the specific category, number of overall sales in it;

Sales by coupons – to the specific coupon, number of overall sales made with an added coupon;

Sales by customer downloads – to the specific online content, number of overall downloads.

Customers section contains data divided by:

Customers vs Guests – number of overall people who visit the site and order vs people who only generate traffic without purchasing a product.

Stock section contains data divided by:

Low in stock – the number of products you have currently available on your WooCommerce website;

Out of stock – the number of products you do not currently have inventory of on your WooCommerce website;

Most stocked – the number of products you currently have in quantity and in stock on your WooCommerce website.

Step 2. Export the information in CSV Format via WooCommerce built-in functionality.

Once you have listed and gone through all the needed data with the desired parameters, you can continue to download the data through the Reports section by choosing Export CSV button:

Keep in mind that you have an option to export the needed information from the WooCommerce plugin for the Orders and Customers section only. The last Stock section is simply for keeping track of the current inventory state of your online WooCommerce website.

That’s it. Once you select the button, your data will start to download and finish in CSV format. You can later on open it locally on your computer to keep track of the information. The built-in feature sorts out the information beforehand.

Step 3. Export the information in XML Format via WordPress built-in Tools.

This method displays the option to use the built-in WordPress Tools to export and download all the orders generated from your online business website.

To do that, you would need to navigate to Tools (1) category and Export (2) section to complete the process:

Once done, you will need to select the specific content you wish to export. In the case of the topic, that would be all Orders (1) and then select Download Export File (2):

That’s it. You will see the download start locally on your computer. Keep in mind that the file will be in XML format.

The WordPress Exporter Tool does not have the same functionalities as the built-in WooCommerce one. There aren’t any parameters which you can set to divide the information such as time frame, products, coupons etc. Thus, the downloaded file will just be a summed up file of all the orders ever created on the website. You will need to separately sort them out.

There isn’t any specific difference between the CSV and XML format. If you are wondering which to choose, the decision would weigh more, depending on the functionalities that are offered during export. In terms of better management of data, using the built-in WooCommerce option would be best since it auto-sorts the data and allows you to use different parameters. The XML format through WordPress Tools just provides simple export functions on almost all the content on your website but without parameters or sort options. Both formats are easily exported and can be imported at any time to any other WooCommerce websites built on WordPress CMS platform.

Step 4. Export your data via WooCommerce plugin.

The last and third option would be to use a WooCommerce plugin. To do that, you would need to search and download it through the Plugins (1) section and navigate to Add New Plugins (2):

From there you would need to use the Search Bar and input the name of the plugin: Advanced Order Export For WooCommerce. Once you list the plugin, you can choose Install Now option to complete the process:

Once installed and activated, the plugin will basically replace the previous built-in WooCommerce option for exporting data via CSV format from Step 2 of the article.

The plugin in general provides more in-depth options and parameters to further advance your statistics and gathering of data from your WooCommerce online business.

The steps to accessing the plugin functionalities are similar to the first method. You would need to navigate to WooCommerce dashboard (1) and select Export Orders (2):

You can see that there are much more options to divide the data, however and whichever you want to. Additionally you have the option to name the file that you export, which again, adds more structure to sort out everything on your end. Multiple formats can be chosen to download the data in and so forth.

Once you have completed everything and completed the process, you can name the file and select Export option to finish it:

That’s it. We went through all three methods which you can use to export data from your online sales, orders, products and much more.

Keeping track of your online orders, products and inventory is a crucial part of the success factor for any WooCommerce store. As you grow your business, orders begin to pile up, naturally categories get added, different products and thus, the need to export all the information to analyze it and get better, becomes that much necessary.

As any other online business, you want your website to stand out from the rest by using different themes and plugins to appeal to your visitors. One strong recommendation when managing a WordPress based website is to use different custom fonts to add to your design that much needed final touch. We will cover the basics in this article on which fonts to use and how to choose them carefully to fit your individual needs.

Step 1. Find and choose the correct Custom Font for your WordPress Site.

Finding sources for the perfect custom font to add to your WordPress website will not be hard since there are a lot to cover such as Google Fonts, FontSquirrel, and FontSpace.

Heroic Message: Additionally, if you are picky with your choice and do not like the fonts that are offered from the services mentioned above, you can try and generate your own unique custom font, driven by your ideas. That can happen by using a tool such as FontSquirrel Generator. From there you can choose from a variety of different options to pick the correct one to your liking.

The main thing to look for in a font would be the “be cool” factor and how it will stand out on your website and of course, the boring stuff related to readability, where you need to be careful.

Keep in mind that the “cool” factor for choosing a unique font needs to be thought through carefully since it will affect the readability of your website. If it looks cool but damages the overall look of the website, we recommend that you source out a different one that will suit your needs in a balanced manner. You need to make sure that your visitors can read easily through your website without having too many different fonts and actions happening in one place, leading to annoyance.

Step 2. Adding Custom Fonts from Google Fonts.

As explained earlier, Google Fonts provides the biggest library available for free for fonts to use on your WordPress website. If you are searching for the perfect one, that will most likely be the best place to find it.

The first step to adding the desired font is to install the plugin Google Fonts Typography on your WordPress website. Once installed, you will need to activate it like any other WordPress plugin you have.

Upon activation, you will be prompted to input an email address to receive a beginners guide on how to properly use the plugin. The step is optional and it is up to you if you want to use their free instructions on how to utilize it:

The next step is finally where some work is done on your website. You would need to navigate through the dropdown menu of the plugin and choose Customize Fonts:

From there, you will be automatically redirected to the built-in WordPress Theme Customizer:

There, you can start laying the foundation for your WordPress website by choosing the default fonts through the “Basic Settings” section:

There, you will see all the different fields you can choose to set up the groundwork for your website appearance such as your base, heading, buttons and inputs.

Once you have chosen all the options for different fonts on the left of your screen, the right half will generate a preview of all the things you saved, so you can actually see what you are doing in real time.

Once you are done with the basics, you can start applying custom fonts for different parts of your website through the “Advanced Settings” section:

From these settings you can basically touch up and fine tune all the groundwork you set with the basic fonts and make changes on your Site Title, Navigation Menu, Content and much more.

Every section in “Advanced Settings” has a drop-down menu from which you can choose different fonts. Wants you are ready with all the major changes on your WordPress website appearance, then you can simply save all the changes by clicking Publish:

That’s it! You have successfully learned how easy it is adding custom fonts to WordPress site! An important note to take here is that you need to check if all the fonts mix and match together, as well as the read quality of your website. Fun recommendation is to get some of your friends to read through your website and make suggestions if something is wrong with the text. Most times those little things might matter and help you sort out anything that you haven’t noticed already.

We all know how much time and effort goes into creating and maintaining a WordPress site. It’s like your place on the internet where you share your passions, business, or ideas with the world. But have you ever thought about what would happen if all your hard work disappeared instantly? Scary, right? That’s why backing up your WordPress is essential to protect your content, settings, and configurations from data loss due to hacking, server issues, or accidental deletions.

In this guide, I’m going to walk you through three simple and effective methods to back up your WordPress site. Whether you’re a tech newbie or a seasoned pro, you’ll find a method that fits your comfort level. Let’s dive in!

Method 1: Backup your WordPress site using a Backup Plugin

Using WordPress plugins is the easiest and most popular way to make a backup of your site. There are plenty of options available in the WordPress library making it easy to find a solution that fits your needs. Among the most commonly used backup plugins are All in One WP Migration, Duplicator, and UpdraftPlus. We’ve covered them in detail in our knowledgebase article.

It’s important to note that backups created by backup plugins are initially stored on your server and count towards your overall disk space usage. To save space and enhance security, you should download these backups to your local computer or another remote storage solution. This approach ensures your backups are safely stored separately from your hosting service, providing an additional layer of protection to your content.

Method 2: Backup your WordPress site from your hosting control panel

Many WordPress hosting providers, including WPX, offer backup services. At WPX, we automatically make daily backups of all websites hosted with us, keeping them for 28 days on separate servers. Additionally, you can create personal backups at any time of all your sites and download them to store safely on your local device. This option is conveniently available in the WPX Control Panel.

If you’re using cPanel, you can back up your website by compressing the files in your File Manager and exporting the database of your site using phpMyAdmin. Depending on your hosting provider, there may be even easier options available to back up and download your site’s content.

Method 3: Backup your WordPress site using FTP and phpMyAdmin

This method is more technical but offers a thorough backup solution. Here’s how you can manually back up your files and database through the WPX Control Panel:

Backup your files using FTP

To backup your files using FTP access you’ll need an FTP client like FileZilla. A detailed tutorial on how to connect with FileZilla can be found in the WPX knowledgebase. The basic steps are similar across most hosting services:

Download and install an FTP client like FileZilla.

Connect to your web server using your FTP credentials; If you’re using an sftp connection, don’t forget to add sftp:// before the hostname the your server.

Once you’re connected, navigate to the directory where your WordPress site is installed (usually that is a directory named public_html);

It is not possible to compress files using FileZilla so you can download all files by selecting them (for Windows CTRL+A for Mac Command-A).

Then click the right button on the mouse and select the Download button to download the files to your local device.

By following these steps, you will have a complete backup of your WordPress site files.

Backup Your Database via phpMyAdmin

To export the database of your site, you need to access phpMYAdmin from your hosting’s control panel. Here is a detailed tutorial on exporting a database from the WPX control panel. Regardless of your hosting service, the basic steps are as follows:

Log into your hosting account’s phpMyAdmin

Select your WordPress database.

Click on the Export tab.

Choose the Quick export method and SQL format. Then click on the Go button to download the exported database.

Tips for Effective Backups

Schedule Regular Backups: Depending on how frequently you update your site, schedule daily, weekly, or monthly backups.

Store Backups Offsite: Always store your backups in a remote location like cloud storage or an external hard drive to avoid data loss in case of server failure.

Test Your Backups: Periodically test your backups to ensure they can be restored successfully.

Conclusion

Backing up your WordPress site is crucial for maintaining its integrity and ensuring quick recovery in case of any issues. Whether you choose a plugin, cPanel, or FTP and phpMyAdmin, each method provides a reliable way to secure your data. Regular backups, offsite storage, and periodic testing will keep your website safe and give you peace of mind.

B2B content marketing and B2C marketing are entirely different beasts. the purpose is the same, however, in the case of B2B content marketing, the content absolutely has to be useful above everything else. It can be entertaining and funny too, but the utility is a critical feature.

For your business to be successful and keep up with changing times, your B2B marketing must be useful and meaningful and also distributed efficiently.

if your current content marketing strategy feels like it’s falling flat, or you’re just starting out with a new B2B business, the following B2B content marketing hacks could bring better results for less work.

Charlotte Chamberlain

Content Strategist at Tao Digital Marketing

Twitter: @taodigitalUK

LinkedIn: Charlotte Chamberlain

Don’t Underestimate Long-Tail, Zero Search Volume Keywords!

B2B content marketing is competitive – mixing popular, high-volume terms with hyper-focused, long-tail queries is by far the best strategy for pushing your website to the top of the SERPs.

Making ‘low hanging fruits’ a priority, alongside your main keyword strategy, will allow you to cover all bases in a format that is easy to read and follows a clear buyer journey, no matter what end of the funnel a reader is from.

This way, you’ll get better results and a wider, more extensive data set to utilize for your ongoing B2B marketing plan.

Jeremy Rivera

Twitter: @JeremyRiveraSEO

Linkedin: Jeremy Rivera

Recycle, Reduce, Reuse Your Content In Multiple Formats

If you make a connection with an expert known to your industry audience, a famous creator or speaker then you’re poised to get the biggest win by recording a video interview with them on your target topic. Then you can create a post with the transcript, turn key moments into quote graphics, transform the transcript into blog style content, chop up the interview into interesting clips for Insta, Tiktok, Facebook, Linkedin. By leveraging multiple content formats, you can take a single topical idea and make dozens of content pieces for different channels!

Nat Caesar

Owner & Head of Growth of Myndset

Use Internal Linking Strategically

Many content marketers tend to focus more on acquiring backlinks and underestimate the power of internal linking. Strategic internal linking brings better user experience, improves search rankings and contributes to the overall success of your content marketing efforts. Spend time doing a page-by-page analysis of your top performing posts and from there, link to the articles that need a boost. The transfer of link juice from these influential pages or posts can definitely bring keywords to higher rankings in the SERPs. In addition, executing tactical interlinking in your posts will keep your readers engaged as they switch from one valuable post to another. As a result, you build more trust and your audience starts to see you as an authority in what you preach!

LinkedIn: Jamie Cohen

You Don’t Always Have to Recreate the Wheel

If your B2B services are a smaller industry, don’t be afraid to steal winning content ideas from bigger industries. Industries with a ton of B2B services like SEO and Real Estate will have almost every content type covered. Use tools like Ahrefs and BuzzSumo to find which content types are working for them. Use these ideas as a starting point for content creation and fit the ideas to your audience. There is a decent chance that your audience has yet to see certain content types that could resonate with them.

Anoop Yersong

Head of Growth – Zonka Feedback

LinkedIn: Anoop Yersong

Listen to Your Customers & Optimize Your 24×7 Sales Rep

Data is the new gold. And apart from the general web or in-product analytics, heat-maps and session recording tools, at the end of the day, it’s the customer who makes the final call.

Collecting, analyzing and taking action on the website feedback data can help you measure 360° customer experience and if done strategically, this can:

Increase brand awareness through cluster pages like blogs and articles

Streamline customer journey through easy-to-understand help articles

Creating a Content Marketing Strategy That Converts!

Do research and proper market segmentation in order to address reader intent with the right set of keywords. Adapting B2B content marketing strategies for specific target markets is essential for driving results, no matter the size of the audience. Content marketing strategies help marketers make the most of their content and maintain a high ROI, while creating lasting equity for their brand.

Here are the 10 steps we recommend to create a Content Marketing Strategy That Converts:

Keyword Research

Content Goals

Content Length

Style Guide (Consistency)

Content Map

Pillar Pages

Visual Content

Writing and Revising

Content Target Audience

Promotion and Distribution

Alongside a detailed knowledge of your target audiences, these steps are imperative for taking full advantage of content’s potential and yielding the desired results.

Learn more: Definitive Guide to B2B Content Marketing

Sam Meenasian

Founder of Business Insurance USA

Create Content Marketing Partnerships

Creating content marketing partnerships is a great way to get your site more link juice, boost awareness, and grow your business. It is an underused tactic, but it can help you reach new frontiers. You can partner with promising potential brands and companies that don’t compete with your products but have overlapping audiences and a shared vision.

Partnerships with influencers in your niche are really effective as they can include your content on their social media posts or marketing newsletters. That will help you reach a new audience that can be interested in your new content and your brand.

Charles Brecque

Founder of Legislate

Twitter: @CharlesBrecque

LinkedIn: Charles Brecque

Hyper Tailored Content

Focusing part of your content marketing efforts on hyper tailored content is key to attracting prospects that are likely to be qualified and interested in your services. For example, someone searching for “CRM software with email automation and landing pages” is more likely to have a commercial intent than someone searching for “CRM”. Despite attracting a lower volume of visitors, hyper tailored content is worth the investment because these visitors are more likely to become real customers.

Nebojša Rakić

Founder of Get Results Link Building

LinkedIn: Nebojša Rakić

Research, Research, Research and Content That Brings Value

B2B content marketing doesn’t have to be a complex and endless back and forth between planning, execution and tracking of results. It can be much simpler, you just need two things to do it efficiently, and that is research and content that actually brings value to the readers. Starting with research, you need to get familiar with the needs and problems the business is facing, and then craft content that can actually help them implement your actionable advice in their strategy. Forget about stuffing your content with countless keywords and keyword synonyms – if your content doesn’t have any value when the fluff is removed, it simply won’t have any effect. Provide your readers with reliable advice without thinking about SEO when producing the content, and the results will follow!

Rifat Shibli

Senior Marketing Specialist at ShortDot

LinkedIn: Rifat Shibli

Be Human

The best content marketing hack is to humanize your content. Talk to your readers, understand their problems, and provide them with a solution.

SEO, link building, keyword research, etc are excellent ways to rank your content. However, all your efforts will go for naught if your content sounds robotic and fails to connect with the reader.

Therefore, the most important tip I can offer is to tailor your content to the readers you want to interact with it. Google will like your content if your readers do, and it will eventually perform better and increase the credibility of your business.

Make a content hub to catch Google’s attention and rank organically!

The concept of cluster content or topic clusters might initially seem confusing, but it is great to strengthen your content and SEO strategy.

Why does this strategy work?

The content cluster model has three main components: pillar pages, cluster content, and internal links. Organizing content in this way makes it easier for Google and online users to understand and navigate the content.

How do you build a good content cluster?

Analyze your goals & conduct a thorough keyword research

Perform a thorough content audit to find out if it will benefit your site’s performance

Construct pillar pages that would bring all the content together

Interlink all your content and pillar page

Keep mining the content gaps and keep your clusters up-to-date.

If you are thinking about whether this strategy is for you or not, if you want to enhance your ranking and grow your brand organically, this is definitely for you.

Along with content cluster marketing, you should also focus on other strategies like co-marketing, social proof, social bookmarking, and more to grow your SaaS organically.

The Importance of Audio SEO

We cracked Google’s algorithm ?

Not really?, but we’ve found a loophole that boosts your rankings quickly and instantly. What we actually did was insert a voice recording of the article into the article, therefore, giving a signal to the search engine that it helps users to have multiple options to consume the content which is always a plus for Google, because if we take a look at recent updates, Google mainly focuses on user experience.

And here are some tips we have figured out in this process:

✅ Use AI reading tools to save time and human resources.
✅Don’t insert MP3 into your article, as it can slow down your website (you definitely know page speed is crucial for any website). There are different podcast/audio hosts that you can post audio there and then embed on your website.

✅Make sure not to have signs in the text after getting the AI audio version of the article.

Lacking Ideas on Content to Create? Make a Glossary of Your Niche Terms

Creating a glossary of your niche terms to leverage search traffic is worth it. You’ll find that a great deal of your target audience tends to search for more information on terms they’re learning about.

It’s a good idea to include a glossary with regularly updated terminology of your market or field. For example, Ahrefs has a glossary involving all SEO terms, which is a commonly trusted platform by marketers around the world. The provision of these terms allows for ranking on different keywords while enhancing the reputation amongst users and readers; giving them a positive first impression of the brand or website.

Integrating well-managed glossaries on websites has the potential to have your visitors come back for more!

The Powerful Techniques in Content Marketing

Storytelling is an ancient art form that has been around for centuries. It is the power of a story to connect with people on an emotional level and inspire them to take action.

In today’s content marketing world, storytelling is being used more and more as a way to engage audiences and tell their stories. The use of storytelling in content marketing has grown exponentially in recent years because it is such a powerful tool for engaging customers.

When you think about the purpose of any piece of content, it should be to get your reader to take some sort of action: sign up for your newsletter, purchase a product, or share the article on social media.

Stories are one of the most powerful tools you can use when crafting any piece of content because they drive your message and make it.

With this in mind,

A well-designed landing page + great stories + CTA’s (Hook, Story, Offer method) converts more..

So, Get a landing page and write a story 🙂

Match Intent. Resonate. Show off.

It’s not easy to write content that converts. Sometimes, every single new post feels like going back to the drawing board.

The truth is, you just need a template that works. I call it the “Intent – Resonate – Show Off” framework.

1- Match Intent

From the get-go, the searcher needs to understand that this article will, indeed, answer their question.

Don’t beat around the bush: keep it short and use bold to draw attention.

2- Resonate

And I don’t mean “you need to know your audience.” For this article specifically, what is it that the reader has a problem with? How does that affect their daily life? How do they feel?

They need to think, “this guy/gal gets me.”

3- Show off

Why would the searcher buy from you after reading the article? How does your product/service tie into your piece of content—and keyword?

Give them a reason to click that “book a call” or “start a trial” button.

Focus on Trends, Innovation and White Spots

No matter how competitive your niche might be, there is always a chance to spot a topic that has not yet been thoroughly revealed or requires latest / updated info. Articles like that will be popular (extra traffic and potential leads over cross-marketing) and harvest inbound backlinks steadily. Question is how to find the topic. Hack here is to employ the following tools:

Technical traffic analysis tools like Ahrefs > Organic Traffic > Top Pages

Quora: Analysis of questions related to your niche

Google Trends: Good for both worldwide and local requests

Analysis of existing article with few examples, case studies and proofs that your expertise could provide

Spend money wisely on content that drives brand awareness. I believe in investing in guest posts and advertorials with the right partners. Quality oriver quantity as always and branded keywords that help customers recognize you in the long run.

Do not be afraid to immerse yourself in conventional structures and formats, be guided mostly by SEO rules. Follow the rules of design and functionality imposed on the page.

In turn, alongside the internet there is a huge variety of artificial intelligence tools and resources that help position your content, always with a final look, since google penalizes content artificially created by an artificial tool.

If you want to achieve stellar growth for your business, SaaS growth hacking strategies have been tried and tested by countless developers, marketers, and creative founders. If you’re not sure what this term means you’re not alone. It’s become very trendy in marketing and entrepreneurial circles.

In the following post, the veil is going to be pulled back and you’ll find out how you can make growth hacking work for your business. Leverage what you learn and you’ll be able to achieve quick, measurable, and hopefully sustainable growth for your own SaaS brand. Let’s face it, there are over 10,000 private SaaS companies, so you’ve got to do everything you can to stand out from the crowd.

Here you can check out effective growth hacking tips I got from both experts & starters.

Kashyap Trivedi

Growth Marketer at Salesmate

Twitter: @harf13594

LinkedIn: Kashyap Trivedi

Create a truly useful onboarding sequence

Companies constantly experiment with the way they communicate with their customers or future customers. In marketing experiments, companies usually found that the onboarding sequence has an amazing impact on trial to paid conversion rates.

The logic is quite simple. If prospects hit on the “Try Now” button, somehow your copywriting or targeting is working. Cheers to that.

But you have to impress them with your product now. No matter how experienced users are, they are new to your platform. You’ll miss out on an amazing opportunity to impress trial users with your product if you don’t provide them with all the things they “might” need.

They might not need your support articles, videos, or resources. That simply doesn’t mean you shouldn’t provide.

Usually, at Salesmate we send over 4-6 emails to new users over the period of 15 days to show how Salesmate is useful for their business, and this strategy works for us. You can check out our drip email templates in the reference.

Create a page of stats relevant to your industry

People love reading data-driven posts and bigger news outlets are also inclined to link to a data dedicated page. If your industry is related to social media, a page could be created showing the number of social media users per platform, the engagement rate of each platform, the growth of each platform, the strengths and weaknesses of each social platform, and so on. If your SaaS is in the real estate industry, a page describing the growth of the current market, and the number of homes sold, pending, open per market will bring a high level of links, interest and traffic which can be converted into sales.

Below you can learn more about our approach to growth hack links, traffic and sales.

Unlock incremental revenue by launching a Reseller Program

Many SaaS businesses, particularly those working in the B2B segment, may find it rewarding to explore incremental revenue opportunities by offering their technology as a white label solution for enterprise partners.

More importantly, launching a SaaS Reseller Program can become yet another valuable revenue source for digital companies, e.g. in the advertising tech niche. Namely, the acquisition of reputable reseller partners can potentially help scale their business without excessive spending of their operational and financial resources.

Send a lot of cold emails

One of the most effective growth hacking tools in your toolbox is cold email outreach.

Cold email outreach is the process of contacting potential customers who have had no previous interaction with your brand. It’s a great way to generate leads and build relationships with people who might be interested in your product or service.

Here are a few tips to crush it:

Do your research. Before you start reaching out to people, take some time to research your target audience.

Keep it short and sweet. When you’re writing cold emails, less is more. Get to the point quickly.

Personalize your messages. Generic emails are more likely to be ignored, so take the time to personalize each message you send. Include the recipient’s name and address them by their title (e.g., “Dear Mr. Smith”).

Use a strong call to action. Make it clear what you want the recipient to do after reading your email (e.g., “Click here to learn more about our product”).

Test, test, test! Try different subject lines, formats, and strategies to see what works best for your audience. A/B testing can be extremely helpful in this process.

Offer free trials or discounts. Offer free trials or discounts to entice people to try out your product. This is a great way to get more people interested in what you have to offer. In addition, you can offer discounts for users who sign up for a longer period of time.

Create valuable content. Make sure that the content you’re creating for your website is valuable and interesting. This will help attract more visitors to your site and help them learn more about what you have to offer. In addition, this can also help convert visitors into paying customers.

Make your product easy to use. If people can’t figure out how to use your product, they’re not going to want to continue using it.

Hacks to Advertise on Snapchat, Pinterest and Twitter. Google and Facebook offer great targeting options, but you can’t do cold targeting on other platforms like Snapchat, Pinterest, and Twitter. They don’t collect that much information from their audiences but it doesn’t mean that you should ignore them. You can work with them with this retargeting growth hack: embed the pixels of other social media sites on your landing page. Drive cold/relevant traffic from Facebook and retarget them on Snapchat, Pinterest, Twitter, and even Reddit. Create custom ads tailored to the platform’s preferences and target it to your very relevant custom audience.

Include the Most Important Info of Your Email in the P.S. This is a very useful growth hack that you can use in cold emailing: if you have an important sentence that should be read, add it as a P.S. Journalists and other people, having crowded inboxes, quickly scan the email before reading it all. And guess what? They all pay attention to the sentence starting with P.S. P.S. So, write your strongest CTA or most important benefit here.

Adapt your product or service to a new market

As your SaaS business grows, you may find that you need to expand your audience and increase revenue through localization. This means adapting your product or service to appeal to a new market, often with a different language and culture. For example, native Chinese speakers comprise 15% of internet users, but only 2% of online content is in Chinese. What an opportunity to capitalize on!

Localization can be a great way to reach new customers and grow your business. It can also be expensive and time-consuming without the right tools, so you’ll need to make sure that it’s worth the investment. Before you start with localization, do some research to determine whether there is a viable market for your product or service in the target region.

Once you’ve decided to move forward with localization, you’ll need to decide how best to adapt your product or service. The most important thing is to make sure that the translation is accurate and culturally appropriate. You may also need to adjust your marketing materials and website to reflect the new market.

If you do it correctly, localization can be a great way to grow your brand, increase your revenue and reach new customers. Just make sure you do your homework first!

Building quality backlinks is more important than quantity

Quality backlinks provide more benefits to organic growth. Always check whether the backlink is adding value to your site or not. If you keep building too many irrelevant links, your site traffic and SERP ranking will not grow effectively. Every backlink should be placed on related articles to add value to the article on which the link is set and it helps you to acquire more target audience.

Key Strategies to Use for Quality Backlink:

Gain links from sites with high DR/DA

Find competitor’s high-value links

Acquire more do-follow links

Place links in articles where they add value to readers.

The number of inbound links should be more than outbound links

Focus on Funnel to Develop and Distribute Content

In the ecosystem where information is in abundance, it’s vital today to growth-hack your way into the noise by researching, developing, publishing, and distributing your content as per the funnel.

Awareness, consideration, conversion, and retention are the four stages of the conversion funnel to educate, entertain, pursue and win your prospects and make them your brand ambassadors by having them for word-of-mouth marketing.

For your SaaS business, determine as per the conversion stage, that a blog post would work; or if your prospect has time-constraint and loves listening to podcast episodes en-route office.

Actionable steps:

Find the channel where your customers spend time online

See what content format works in that channel (podcast, video, blog post, infographic, etc.)

Have a content calendar filled with content pieces for each stage of the funnel

Publish regularly

Distribute aggressively

Repurpose smartly

Utilize Market Research Effectively

One of the best growth marketing strategies is utilizing market research. When it comes to market research, surveys are one of the most commonly used methods. This is because they are a cost-effective way to gather data from a large number of people in a short amount of time. Additionally, surveys can be used to collect information on a variety of topics, including customer demographics, purchasing habits, and brand awareness. You can also get feedback on your products to help improve them.

However, it is important to keep in mind that not all surveys are created equal. In order to get the most accurate and useful data, it is important to create a well-designed survey that asks the right questions. Additionally, you will need to have a plan for how you will reach your target audience and collect their responses.

Name your company same as your website

To achieve extra organic growth and gain passive backlinks from other sites, you can name your business as “yourcompany.com.” When your company is mentioned in the media and elsewhere on the internet, some writing platforms and websites automatically detect your company name as a link and convert it to a link. We used this hack in the early days of Markettailor (we used to be “markettailor.io”) to get a few extra backlinks.

This hack works especially well if you use your domain as your company name on social media platforms because there are a lot of services that automatically scrape that data and save your name as your domain name in their database.

Exact domain name advantage + SEO

As a SaaS, there are only a few things that can drastically improve your MRR, organic traffic being one of them. As someone who had the struggle of getting traffic after developing an entire product, I find solving the traffic issue at the start of it makes the rest of the business much easier.

All you need is to pick a brand name/domain name that works in your favor.

Most SaaS businesses solve a specific problem that can be narrowed down to 1 keyword seed phrase.

Having that exact keyword seed phrase that your customers are searching for as your domain name, in addition to leveraging the universal practice of using brand names as anchor text i.e brand mentions & owning brandmentions(.)com

We now have an accurate measure of what keywords we can rank for easily on the homepage without additional cost in organic traffic.

As the business grows, more people will link to it organically – securing a moat for your SaaS in terms of free SEO traffic & brand type-ins.

This strategy works well for 1 word domain name too, which often has better search volume, part-keyword/brand matches – meaning your website will be prioritized as it’s included in the keyword people are searching for.

Implement a Buyer-Led Growth Model

Marketing is no longer about raising awareness and capturing customers under the new Buyer-Led Growth marketing strategy. It’s all about changing people’s minds with your brand story, building urgency, and creating a compelling offer.

Customer-Led Growth centers your brand’s identity, value proposition, marketing strategy, and more around the buyer. You’re primarily concerned with the buyer’s needs and where they are on their journey.

If you give buyers the knowledge they need, they are more inclined to trust you and, as a result, buy from you. This is when users are more likely to contact sales on their own, resulting in a more efficient and productive sales process.

When it comes to graphic design and content marketing Canva is a robust tool with a seemingly endless number of design possibilities. Whether you’re creating posters, website banners, logos, or print materials, Canva can help you design graphics for almost every project. And with these Canva tips and tricks, you can fully take advantage of all the amazing features that this powerful tool has to offer.

Adjust the image transparency or make a custom filter

A transparent filter over your image is a trendy effect and one of the coolest stylistic elements to add to your designs. In the toolbar, click the Transparency icon and adjust the slider to achieve the desired effect. In addition to making the image transparent, you can also add this filter to text, photos, backgrounds, and even explainer videos.

If you are layering different filters to create a unique effect, you can save the filter to use it for multiple projects. This way, you won’t have to manually adjust settings for each of your designs.

Filter Elements by Color

Finding pre-made elements that match your brand’s aesthetic can be difficult. While you can always adjust the element’s color, it’s much easier to find ones that are already in your color scheme. But instead of scrolling for hours, you can filter elements by color (it’s one of the easiest Canva search tips to help you with your projects).

To start, type in a keyword in the search bar as you normally would to find elements. Then select the filter icon to the right of the search bar. In the filter menu, you can select a color or add your custom color using the color wheel or hex code.

Use Canva Templates

Canva has a template for practically every type of design project you could need. Whether you’re designing marketing materials for work or fun graphics for a personal project, Canva’s beautiful pre-built templates will look as if you hired a professional designer.

All templates can be customized to your liking. Change colors, add photos, or adjust anything else you need to make your design your own. Best of all, there are thousands of templates that are available for you to use for free!

Create animated gifs

An animated gif is an eye-catching way to attract customers or add personality to your design. Gifs can be used for marketing emails, websites, ads, or even presentations. But instead of using a gif that has already made its way around the internet, you can use Canva to create your own fun animation.

Using the Gif Maker, you can make gifs from uploaded videos, images, or photos. You can also add text or other elements to make the design more unique. Then you’ll choose a type of animation (ex: breath, fade, drift, rise, tumble) to bring your creation to life.

Lock Element or Image Positions

Whether you’re designing a project from scratch or editing one of Canva’s pre-made templates, it’s common to have different elements all on one page. However, these elements are individual objects, which can make moving or resizing them together with a pain.

Thankfully, Canva allows you to lock different elements or images together. Once they are locked in a group, they can be manipulated together while remaining in the same place.

Use Canva Keyboard Shortcuts

Utilizing Canva to its full potential is easier once you know about these Canva pro tips. The tool is created with dozens of helpful keyboard shortcuts that you can use to quickly add elements, crop images, or group, copy, and align designs. Here are a few examples of helpful shortcuts to memorize:

Add text: T

Add rectangle: R

Add circle: C

Increase font size: Cmd/Ctrl + Shift + >

Align text to center: Cmd/ctrl + shift + C

Group elements: Cmd/Ctrl + G

Duplicate elements: Cmd/Ctrl + D

Add comment: Cmd/Ctrl + Option/Alt + M

Add a QR Code to your Designs

Can’t fit all the information on your business card or flyer? Then add a QR code! A QR contains an embedded link that a user can scan to get more information about your services or product. This can be your website, your blog, or even the download link to a mobile app.

QR codes are also important if you want the user to do something on their personal device. For example, they can scan a QR code to sign up for a newsletter, take advantage of a special offer, or immediately share contact details.

Use Tidy Up for Even Spacing

It’s common for projects to have multiple images, graphics, and text boxes, although adding these can make your screen cluttered and disorganized. But don’t worry – the Tidy Up feature is one of the best Canva design tips for keeping your workspace nice and neat!

Start by selecting the elements you want to line up (you’ll need to choose at least three to utilize this feature). Then click on Position and then Tidy Up. You’ll see that the selected elements are now organized in a row! This illuminates the need to manually adjust or align the different images or boxes in your design, saving you lots of time and energy.

Create Websites through Canva

Unless you are a designer or programmer, creating a high-quality website can time consuming (not to mention incredibly expensive). But with Canva, you can make a professional-looking website in just a few easy steps. Once you choose a template, you can add and edit titles, images, and text for your blog or business.

The best part about using Canva websites is that they also publish your site for you! You’ll get a free domain (although it will have Canva in the URL) that you can share with your friends, followers, or customers.

Use Canva Screen Recorder to record your Presentations

There are many reasons to record your presentation. Maybe you want to distribute it to people who weren’t in attendance. Or perhaps you want to upload your presentation to YouTube or your website. Thankfully, Canva makes it easy to record and download your video.

Under the recommendation tab, select Present and Record. Then select Go to the Recording Studio.

You’ll have the option to record audio and video along with your Canva presentation. If you don’t want to be on camera, just select Audio-only talking presentations.

Leave Comments if you are working on a project with your team

This is one of the most useful Canva design tips for teams. If you have multiple collaborators on a project, you can leave comments directly on the project for them to read and review. Click on the speech bubble icon to write your note. You can even tag specific users using the @ key or assign them a task in the Assign Checklist to get their attention.

Keep in mind that only users with edit access will be able to read and reply to comments left on the editor.

Create a logo for your website

If you want a professional-looking logo without spending big bucks on a designer, then you’ve come to the right place. Canva has thousands of pre-made logos for various industries, like medical, gaming, fashion, tech, education, legal, and many more.

Simply select a style of logo that suits your taste. Once you’re inside the Canva editor, you can change the colors, font, or image to match your brand. You can then use this image for all types of design-related needs. Add it to your website, your business card, or your social media profiles for maximum exposure!

Work with PDF Files

You already know that Canva is an extremely versatile tool, but did you know that you could use it to import and edit PDF files? The process is easy – simply upload your PDF like you would with a normal image. Once it’s in the Canva editor, you’ll be able to change or tweak whatever you need in the file.

Now you don’t have to pay for a subscription to use a PDF reader like Adobe Acrobat. It’s one of our favourite advanced Canva tricks that most people don’t know about!

Create YouTube Thumbnails

If you’ve ever searched for videos on YouTube, you’ll notice that most videos use a cool image or screen capture for their thumbnail. You can also recreate these cool designs using different Canva video tips.

Canva has thousands of YouTube thumbnail templates for you to use. All templates can be fully customized with your brand’s color scheme or logo. You can also add images or stills from your video. It will give the impression of a personalized and professional YouTube channel.

Use Magic Resize Tool

Using the magic resize tool is one of the best Canva design tips to remember if you want to save time. It allows you to create multiple graphics or images in just the click of a button. Once you craft up a design you like, use the Magic Resize Tool to change the size or shape to fit your different needs.

You can create printed flyers, website banners, online ads, or even social media posts using this tool. Canva will resize your design to perfect dimensions without stretching your images or cutting off your logo or text.

Add a hyperlink

Adding hyperlinks is a great way to encourage readers or customers to interact with your designs. You can add them to text, titles, images, videos, and Canva elements. However, hyperlinks can only be used on PDFs or presentations and therefore can’t be added to online ads, social media posts, banners, etc. For these designs, we recommend using QR codes to share more information with your customers.

Blur or remove the background

A blurry background is a cool effect that can drastically enhance the look of your design. You can do this in Canva by uploading two copies of your image. Simply use the Background Remover tool to remove the background on one image and blur the background of the second image. Then place the blurred background image behind the first image and viola!

The same tool can also be used if you want to remove a distracting background in your photo. This is a great option for product photos or portraits!

Expert quotes

For any business, productivity has to be a top priority.

To help you give it the attention it deserves there is currently a boom in productivity software and philosophies you can tap into. If you want to make sure you’ve got what you need on your side, the following productivity hacks will make a massive difference, in whatever industry you work in.

Put one, two, or more into practice and you won’t end your working day feeling you could have done more.

You won’t feel like you’ve wasted your day or are a little incomplete. Instead, you’ll be feeling satisfied and fulfilled with all that you’ve accomplished.

A survey of nearly 2,000 office workers in the U.K. found that the average employee was productive for approximately 2 hours and 53 minutes each day.

That’s not much, right?

That’s why I decided to ask business owners and freelancers about their productivity hacks!

Intend your Daily Results in the Morning

It’s important to have a clear idea of what you want to achieve each day.

Spend a few moments each morning to intend your desired outcome for the day ahead. This could be anything from completing a certain task, to achieving a specific goal such as getting three new clients, or simply feeling more peaceful and content.

When you take the time to set your intention for the day, you are 7x more likely to achieve your desired result. This is because you are focused and clear on what you want, and are more likely to take the necessary actions to make it happen.

So, start each day by intending your desired outcome, and see how much closer you come to achieving it!

Sound and Clear Break Management

Always have breakfast before starting your daily work in the morning since this will help you stay productive.

No matter how busy you are, you never forget to take a regular break. A short break with the Pomodoro technique will help you to break work up into short periods. This break refreshes your mind, allowing you to stay focused on your work.

However, you should not spend your break time on social media. Using social media over the break can mentally distract you by exposing you to negativity.

You may get the most out of your breaks by engaging in activities that refresh your body and mind. During your break, you can do short workouts like cardio, bodyweight squats, etc.

Write Tomorrow’s Checklist End of the Work Day

Motivation is something that is sorely misunderstood.

It isn’t something that you build up in order to complete tasks, but the opposite—motivation is how the brain rewards you for accomplishing something. To effectively tap into this concept, it’s important to build motivation and momentum through completing tasks in the day-to-day, no matter how easy or difficult they are.

Start by writing down each task you do at the start of your workday.

No task is too small, as the goal here is to trick your brain into thinking you’re accomplishing a lot.

My checklist for the day includes my morning coffee, meditation, and responding to emails. Although these are things I’d be doing every day no matter what, it feels like I get into a good rhythm by checking these off on my to-do list.

By writing tomorrow’s checklist at the end of your day, you’ll know exactly what your morning looks like and also trick your brain into giving you more motivation to get things done.

Gear up for the Hacks of Being Productive!

Go for the SMART goals when planning on your day – in easy words, have a specific plan for the day to follow; measurable criteria to assess your progress throughout the week; achievable targets on the plan; realistic objectives and timely completion of the projects.

The SMART approach can help you become a lot more productive as it helps prioritize tasks and aim for efficient output.

You also need to keep a check on your routine and habits to improve your productivity levels.

In my experience, waking up and sleeping early helps improve your productivity a lot.

You will be surprised to see how many things you can get done early morning before you even start work. Then, a good healthy breakfast can act as a body fuel to help you on tasks throughout the day.

Lastly, a good morning workout routine can help elevate your concentration levels.

Maximize Slack Functionality for More Productivity

Slack is more than just a messaging app—it’s my assistant.

Besides using Slack for communicating with the team, I extend its use as personal task/meeting reminders, brain dump, and central notification system for other apps.

Here are some of my favorite Slack integrations:

Google Calendar for meeting alerts

Google Drive for keeping track of group projects

MarkupHero for instant annotating on screen captures

Trivia for a fun 5-minute quiz time with colleagues

Our company even uses Slack for onboarding new employees and arranging a game night.

In this way, I can access all my work and appointments from a single app and cut down the time to search and switch between apps.

Structure your Work with an Everyday Plan

My personal experience shows that multitasking is one of the main reasons behind getting you tired and making you feel unproductive.

Every process, especially at work, requires special attention. Trying to give 100% of yourself for a number of processes at the same time may exhaust your mind and reduce your desire to get your tasks done.

My solution to this is to keep track of all my job duties and make sure each of them has its own time frame.

Keeping myself organized and productive inside and outside my job requires an everyday plan that includes all my duties and responsibilities.

What I use to help myself out is my Google Calendar. It is not complicated, it sends me notifications for each task and it prevents mental exhaustion.

In fact, I’ve noticed using Google Calendar increases my desire to stay productive and get all the daily tasks done efficiently and on time.

Get up Early

My number one productivity hack is to wake up early.

I know a lot of people hate the sound of that, but if you can get up just a few hours earlier than you normally would, it can make a big difference in your day.

Some things that I like to do in those early morning hours are work out, read or journal, and plan my day.

If I try to do all of those things at night after work, it’s usually impossible because I’m too tired.

But if I get them done in the morning when I have more energy, it makes my day run a lot smoother. Plus, it means that by the time night rolls around and my brain is fried, I can just relax without feeling guilty.

LinkedIn: Chris Makara

Automate Where Possible

My favorite hack is to automate redundancies and time-sucking processes.

We do way too many things manually that we shouldn’t have to. And these things all add up to time being wasted. While not everything should be automated, but definitely things that you find yourself doing again and again.

Whether this is scheduling social media updates, generating monthly reports of data, or anything else you find yourself doing again and again – automating these processes saves you time.

And once you start off-loading these repetitive tasks to automation, you start to gain back more of your time to focus on things that can’t be automated. For example, your side hustle, customer service, family time, etc.

LinkedIn: Gaurav Sharma

Identify Tasks to Automate and Delegate

If you believe that multitasking enhances your productivity, I’d strongly disagree. In fact, it is counterproductive.

I would rather concentrate on my MITs (most important tasks) and focus all my energy on completing them efficiently.

As an entrepreneur, learn to identify tasks that can be automated or delegated. Put technology to good use and automate all the repetitive tasks.

Remember, you have top-class tools at your disposal to manage several tasks for you, right from social media posts to emails, coordinating with your team, and managing your calendar.

At the same time, learn to delegate tasks that your core team handles. You can get the ball rolling by chalking out the plan and putting the guidelines in place.

From there on, let your team take over and handle those tasks.

I practice the same and it helps me to stay organized and be my best in things that really matter to me.

Enter ‘Deep Work’ Mode

Whether you work from home, from an office, or from a cozy coworking space, it’s so easy to get distracted.

We all have those days when we feel that we didn’t actually get anything done. We get lost in emails, calls, and meetings and at the end of the day, we haven’t done any progress with our main task.

Entering deep work mode is what saves me from being distracted and keeps me productive during the day.

I create a distraction-free environment and try to focus on my main task for the day for a few hours.

This technique not only improves my productivity but also helps me get more things done and gives me more time for other things like going out, spending time with my family, or learning new skills.

Don’t Skip your Breaks

Unfortunately, each of us has a limit of deep focus.

It is impossible to stay concentrated enough on a particular task for too long. Therefore, is it essential to take breaks and give your brain some rest?

No matter how busy you are, there always should be a couple of minutes for a break. However, some dedicated employees tend to sacrifice their breaks to cram more work during the day. However, this habit actually reduces the level of productivity.

Try to schedule your breaks periodically, even on the most challenging days.

Take some minutes to stand up, walk around and put your mind at rest. As a result, you will return to work refreshed and energized.

Eliminate Distractions

Interruptions are the biggest killers of productivity.

How many times have you found yourself on social media during working hours? Have you ever kept track of how much time you’ve lost?

When you want to focus on a task, eliminate all distractions.

Prepare a schedule or a to-do list.

Then, put your phone on silent and move it out of your reach. Pause all desktop notifications, or even use a blocker to limit your access to certain apps and websites.

If you’re working in an area where you can be disturbed, move to a different spot or let people around you know you need to concentrate.

Simple preparatory steps like this can allow you the time and space to focus on deep work and notably boost your productivity.

CEO & Founder of Rora

LinkedIn: David Patterson-Cole

Identify your Productive Time

A classical 9 to 5 schedule is definitely not a good fit for modern workers, who are more appreciated for the quality and efficiency of their work.

There is no secret that every person tends to get a particular strike of creativity and productivity at some point during the day.

While time is seen as a valuable resource, your own energy is your most valuable currency. To accomplish any tasks efficiently, it is essential to understand how your brain works and when is its most productive time.

Understanding the work of your brain depends solemnly on your awareness, experimentation, and raw data.

Instead of telling your body when it should be working, it would be more effective to listen to it and schedule the most critical tasks during peak hours. Besides, knowing yourself better does not require much.

Take Enough Breaks

Take a break at least every two hours.

After ca. two hours, your focus starts to decline and you just start staring at your screen without producing anything valuable anymore.

Taking a break gives you the opportunity to recharge and have the necessary energy for the next two hours.

If you don’t know what to do during the break, find good reasons to get away from your desk. For example to get a glass of water or a coffee, a snack, …

It can be as simple as that.

It’s also good for your body, especially for your neck and your back. If you have time for a longer break, go for a run or a workout.

You’d be surprised how motivated you are to start working again.

I do it, and the outdoor air and exercise give me the oxygen to increase my productivity significantly.

Create Repeatable Processes

When building out systems or growing a company, you’ll often do something for the first time. Sometimes it works, sometimes it falls flat. It’s important to get things out the door quickly to learn, iterate, and also to stop doing things that don’t add value.

Once you’ve figured out what does work, the next step is to streamline the process and automate as much of it as possible – you’ve got other ideas to build and test!

Using software tools to build this process and scale the impact is crucial when you have limited time and resources. Using built-in integrations between popular tools, or supplementing with connectors like Zapier will save you so much time in the long run.

And then when you’ve optimized the process, document it.

This will let you hand the work off immediately, or when you have a more hands-on deck.

A tool like Scribe can create these process documents instantly while you do the work, saving even more time.

Use Site Blocker Extensions

Focused work is the backbone of productivity and this is nearly impossible with an influx of distractions from virtually every site we visit.

It’s very common to get an email, a Slack notification, or a social media notification every few minutes. This makes it extremely difficult to focus on one task and make any progress in your day.

Installing a site blocker on your computer is a great way to counter this and set yourself up for success.

There are numerous site blockers available in the Chrome web store and the majority of them are free.

You can download any one of them and enter sites that you want to block during your focused work period. This can include sites like Gmail, Slack, YouTube, etc.

By eliminating notifications and distractions from these sites, you can focus on doing your most high-priority tasks and have a productive workday.

Always Have Snacks on Hand

If you work for long hours every day, you should know by now that it’s really difficult to work on an empty stomach; you tend to lose focus more easily while you feel the clock is ticking in the opposite direction.

However, I do believe some break-time snacks (certainly not all of them) can help you with productivity, not only because science says so but also because I have experienced the results myself.

My top three go-to snacks for break-time that can’t be missing in my refrigerator are:

Nuts (almonds, cashews, hazelnuts, pecans, etc.)

Yogurt

Apples with peanut butter

These snacks are packed with healthy fats and the necessary amount of nutrition to get me through the day with a full belly and a sharp mind.

Blocking Time on your Calendar

My favorite productivity tip is to put things you wanna do on your calendar.

When it’s just on your to-do list, and you pick up an item to do, the brain (or maybe just my brain) tells me that you could be something else.

But when I give myself permission to work on it by blocking time for it on my calendar, then I don’t face this problem that much.

The other benefit to blocking time is that you can see how much you can realistically accomplish in your day so that you don’t take too much work or take too little.

Turn your Phone to Silent

Being an entrepreneur means I have distractions coming from all sides. They come as email notifications, alerts, texts, and social media updates.

If I’m not careful, I will spend a good few hours just checking my phone and will not get any work done.

With that said, turning my phone to silent for an hour or so during the day helps me accomplish a lot more. While one hour might feel too short, it’s long enough to focus on the task at hand, and at the same time not wait too long to respond to important messages.

You can do this once a day or more, depending on your preference.

The key is to eliminate distractions even if it’s just for a little bit, and it’s difficult to do that when your phone is constantly buzzing.

Work in Blocks

It’s safe to say that like me, a lot of people visualize working several hours a day uninterrupted.

The truth is, it’s hard to focus after a while and it’s good to change things up a little. Once I noticed that my productivity was slowing down significantly, I decided to work in shorter time slots, something similar to the Pomodoro technique. Each time slot, or block, is allocated to a specific task.

This helps me in two ways:

I’m more motivated to put all my concentration on that time slot because I know it will go by fast.

The next time slot will be a completely different task, keeping things fresh and a little bit more exciting.

Once I feel I’m starting to get bored which is usually what slows me down, I make a point to do a different task in the next block of time.

Get a Good Night of Sleep

We’re all busy and it’s rare we can stick with a schedule of an early bedtime and early rising. While waking up early would be ideal, some people, like me, are night owls.

Because of this, I had to adjust my schedule and work when I’m the most productive. A good night of sleep, no matter when it’s crucial for me (or anyone) to have more energy and to work more efficiently.

There’s nothing worse for your productivity than being constantly tired.

So if you can’t stick with the normal schedule, and can’t seem to fall asleep before 10pm, just make sure you get a good solid sleep so your body and brain can rest and recharge.

Some people need a full 8 hours while some others are perfectly fine with less.

Find what works for you and your health, and make sure to stick to that schedule.

Don’t Skip on Meals

When you do a job you love it’s easy to forget to do things that aren’t work-related.

As excited as I am to work to grow my business, I make a point to stop and do other important things, like eating.

Working for long hours without eating properly affects my mood, and my energy, thus having a big impact on the quality of my work.

The best way I have accomplished this is to set up a schedule that I stick to that includes working hours and breaks for my meals and snacks.

This means during the time slot I’m supposed to be working, I’ll be less likely to think about food and more about the task at hand.

Complete Harder Tasks First

We all have those items on our to-do list that we dread doing. Whether it’d be my bookkeeping or scheduling my social media posts, I try to take care of harder or longer tasks first.

Doing this helps me clear my head and I can move on to whatever is next in line without thinking I need to do this or that before the end of the day.

This doesn’t mean I’m completing something that I don’t like first, but just the harder and more complicated ones, which usually take me the longest.

It’s amazing how much more time I have in the day doing this way.

I feel more accomplished which gives me more motivation to take on other challenges. At the end of the day, I have noticed I completed way more than just procrastinating all day while doing busy work.

Make a Shorter To-Do List

Sometimes simple is best.

As long as I have a list of things I need to accomplish that day, I can follow through on most of them.

The trick is to write them down, however, and not to overdo them. If I just keep a long and imaginary list in my head I will get sidetracked after the first item on the list.

There’s something about physically writing down your tasks, reading, and crossing them off as you complete each of them.

I might not finish the entire list, so shrinking the size of it has definitely helped me work faster and be more productive. Additionally, I don’t forget to do things anymore unless I haven’t written them down.

This strategy has changed the game for me in more ways than one.

Delegate More

Wanting to do it all has been my biggest struggle. I have an endless amount of work and sometimes it just paralyzes me, so I learned to delegate some of it so I can focus on the more important stuff.

The need to control everything was affecting my own performance and quality of work, so I started hiring help on a freelance basis.

This has made me a better professional since I had to learn to trust other people to do things for me.

I now have more time to dedicate myself to things I cannot delegate and I don’t feel rushed doing them anymore, and I’m getting a lot more results than if I try to do everything myself.

I used to think so very highly of anyone who prided themselves on multitasking. The fact that I had to switch focus from one thing to another, then another within minutes was just very stressful.

I would start several things at once and not finish them, so after a lot of frustration, I changed strategies. Now I focus on one thing at a time and I give that one task my undivided attention.

Multitasking was slowing me down which was affecting all of my deadlines.

Doing too many things at once gives you a false sense of efficiency. Once I stopped, my performance improved, I was less anxious and stressed, and I was completing my projects on time.

Each Day a Different Goal

This works really well for when I have longer tasks like social media content.

Whether I’m typing up a few blog posts or just scheduling all my social media posts for the month, this takes a big chunk of time.

Then the next day I move on to something else like payroll.

The trick is to avoid doing everything at the same time, which has led to quite a few mistakes. If I start messing things up because I can’t properly concentrate on each task, then I’ll have to spend extra time fixing them.

This is not a very efficient way to work if all you do is fix your own work.

“NO” is a Complete Sentence

The idea of saying no to a project or client and losing a paycheck can be scary.

However, sometimes in order to protect your sanity, you have to say no, no matter how attractive the job may be.

If I have too many deadlines I will start rushing to finish them, which will lead to less than stellar results.

My clients will certainly notice the quality of the work and I might lose money in the future if they decide to go to my competitors.

If I really have a hard time saying no to a specific project, then I set firm terms on an extended deadline.

This helps secure the client, and I’ll have extra time to complete the work without compromising the quality.

Have the Right Tools

Having all my social media work done in one day helps avoid the doom scroll on Instagram or Facebook, which are time suckers.

If I’m trying to be productive, I need to make sure I don’t get pulled into social media after I post my content, so I schedule everything to be posted automatically.

This is just like delegating your work to a machine.

You batch content, and they are all scheduled automatically on the dates you specified, including your caption and hashtags. There’s an automation possibility for everything but I feel like social media would be the thing to automate. You just get so distracted scrolling through your feed and when that happens I can kiss my to-do list bye-bye.

Not having to constantly think about what I’m posting every day also helped me accomplish more during my work hours.

Take a Break

I was easily taking more breaks when I worked in corporate than now that I have started my business.

Even though I’m excited about what I do every day, I started losing focus because my brain never took a break.

That’s when I started taking short breaks more frequently.

This gave me a chance to think and look at something else other than my computer screen. The burst of energy I get from those breaks also gets me more motivated to finish my work, especially during those afternoon slow hours when I get more tired.

I get up, stretch, drink some water, then get back to work feeling like a new person.

Make a Commitment

A lot of people seem to wait for motivation to show up in order to be productive.

When in fact, sometimes you just have to power through it all.

You have to make a commitment, and motivation will come after you accomplish something not before.

Once I realized that I just need to do things before I’m ready, I started to see bigger results in my business. When you make a commitment, you start accomplishing whatever it is that you set your mind to.

Sometimes you just have to get started, and that’s already productive

Batch Similar Tasks Together

Productivity is often about working smarter, not harder.

And that’s especially true when it comes to time management.

One of the simplest productivity hacks is to batch similar tasks together.

If you have a lot of emails to write, for example, set aside some time to focus exclusively on that task. Then move on to something else.

Batching tasks like this can help you stay focused and avoid getting sidetracked by other things that need to be done.

By using this simple strategy, you can take control of your time, increase your productivity, and get more done in less time.

Take Time for Yourself

Waking up early is something that helps me be more productive.

For most of us, as soon as the clock strikes 9, we’re already responding to emails, jumping on work calls, or getting bombarded with notifications until 5/6pm – leaving us little time to focus on anything outside of work matters.

Since we can’t add more hours to the workday (and for good reason), I try to wake up around 5am every day so that I can take care of myself first before anything else. Whether it’s going for a run, grabbing a cup of coffee from my favorite coffee shop, or making my own breakfast – this way my mornings are never rushed and I have enough time to think about/plan my day.

Not rushing in the morning is the key to setting yourself up for the rest of the day.

Try it.

You might like waking up a little earlier than you normally do to do things you enjoy. Start your day slowly and give your mind that boost it needs to process everything that lies ahead of the day.

Write Down a To-Do List

This may probably be the simplest of productivity hacks but for me personally, it’s the most effective one.

Personally, I use a diary to write down my to-do lists at the beginning of each day. This takes less than 5 minutes and this helps me plan my day out as I write my tasks and it helps me prioritize each of them.

As my day progresses, I will cross off the tasks I have finished but also add new ones as we all know, things just come up.

I usually go over my to-do list one last time just before I wrap up for the day to see everything I have accomplished that day to finish on a high.

Final Thoughts

You’ve probably heard the expression work smart, not harder. It’s a good philosophy to have and one that most successful people in the world have got to grips with.

They understand only too well how important it is to maximize efficiency without spending extra hours on work.

Hopefully, these productivity hacks that we’ve shared with you will help you work a bit smarter. However, it’s also important to remember that you have to be willing to embrace change if you want to become more productive.

Good luck with all that you do and make this year your most productive on record.
