Every year, data science supernerd Kevin Ohashi runs a massive batch of independent tests<\/u><\/strong><\/a> of WordPress hosting services across different price categories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s kinda like Motor Trend<\/em>\u2019s World\u2019s Greatest Drag Race, except for WordPress hosting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Companies need to willingly participate and given the popularity of Kevin\u2019s work, it\u2019s pretty surprising which companies don\u2019t opt in and don\u2019t put their service up to detailed public scrutiny.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nonetheless, WPX has been opting in for the last 4 years and you can see our 2019<\/u><\/strong><\/a>, 2020<\/u><\/strong><\/a> and 2021<\/u><\/strong><\/a> results \u2013 Spoiler Alert: we received the highest Top Tier award and fastest global speed average for the last 2 years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But 2022 is a whole new dealio and Kevin tweaked a bunch of stuff to analyze WordPress hosts even more deeply, if that was possible.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Well, in the sub $25 a month category, the UFC-style combatants were.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Notable no-shows here were Bluehost, Hostgator,<\/strong> and A2. WP Engine and Kinsta pricing meant that they could not compete here if they wanted to, which they apparently didn\u2019t.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
