Why was my Hosting Suspended?

The most common reason for suspension is a missed payment. When this happens:

• Your websites become inaccessible
• You lose access to manage your hosting
• Your service remains suspended until the outstanding invoice is paid

How to reactivate your hosting plan?

Step 1. Log in to your WPX account

Begin by logging into your WPX account. You can do this by visiting the WPX login page.​

Step 2. Proceed with payment

Next to the suspended service, you’ll find the option to proceed with payment. Click on the Pay button and complete the process. Once your payment is processed, the system will start an automatic activation process for your hosting plan.

Please keep in mind that this is a fully automated process, and depending on the size, number of websites, and other factors, it may take up to a few minutes to complete.

Set Up a Payment Subscription

Automate your payments to ensure uninterrupted service:

• Credit Card: Save your card details in your WPX account.
• PayPal: Set up a subscription through your invoice page.

Our Billing Department is responsible for conducting thorough reviews to verify the accuracy and authenticity of the information you provide.

In this article, we will guide you through the process of adding or changing your UK VAT number to your account.

Step 1. Log in to your WPX account

Begin by logging into your WPX account. You can do this by visiting the WPX login page.​

Step 2. Go to your Account Details

You need to go to the My Account icon and then select Account Details as shown in the picture:

Step 3. Request a VAT change

In the Account menu, click on the Request Change button

Step 4. Fill out Company Details

Complete the VAT change form with your company details, and then click Submit Request.

That’s it! Once you submit your new VAT details, a ticket will automatically be created for our Billing Department, and they will take care of the rest.

• Subscriptions: If the plan you’re cancelling is your only service with WPX, please cancel any active Credit Card or PayPal recurring subscriptions to prevent future charges.
• Backups: We retain your account backups for up to 90 days. Should you return, we can fully restore your site.
• Refunds: You’re eligible for a refund only within the first 30 days of your initial hosting subscription. Please see our Refund Policy for full details.

Step 1. Log in to your WPX account

Step 2. Open Control Panel

Select Control Panel next to the plan you need to cancel.

Step 3. Submit Cancellation Request

In the Control Panel:

1. Select Plan Details
2. Click on the three-dot button for more options.
3. Select Request Cancellation and complete the Cancellation Request form and submit it.

Step 2. Go to Control Panel

Once logged in:

1. Locate your hosting plan in the WPX client area.
2. Click the Control Panel button next to the plan you wish to manage.

If you have more than five hosting plans of the same type (WordPress, Agency or WooCommerce), not all may appear on the homepage. Use the WordPress Hosting, Agency Hosting or WooCommerce Hosting tab in the left-hand menu to find your service.

Step 3. Change your billing cycle

Within the Control Panel:​

1. Click on the 3 dots next to the upgrade button > Select Change Billing Cycle.
2. Click the Save Changes button.

PayPal Users:

If you previously paid via PayPal, be sure to cancel your old subscription. Otherwise, PayPal may continue billing you for your previous billing cycle, which can lead to service interruptions.

When will I get billed?

Changing your billing cycle from Monthly to Annual will be applied when the next invoice is issued (5 days before the Monthly plan expiration).

When is it possible to add a new Credit Card?

Adding a new credit card is only possible when you have an unpaid Pro-forma invoice. Due to security measures implemented by our payment processor, you cannot add a credit card at any time.

We suggest removing your Credit Card right away when considering a change to a new one. This prevents your old card from being automatically charged for a pending payment that you may not want to proceed with.

For example, if you’ve just paid an invoice with your existing credit card but want to use a new card for future payments, make sure to remove the old card from your WPX account.
Once your next invoice is generated, you’ll be able to add and save your new card for future transactions.

How to remove my current Credit Card?

First, you need to log in to your WPX account.

Then navigate to Billing (1) and make sure to choose the Credit Cards (2) option:

On the right side of your Credit Card details, you’ll see a red button, Delete.

You need to press that button to delete the currently saved Credit Card:

That’s it! You’ve successfully removed your current Credit Card!

How to add my new Credit Card?

Step 1. Ensure You Have an Unpaid Invoice

To add a new credit card, you must have an unpaid invoice. Once you log in to your WPX account, you will see the unpaid invoice (1) on the home page. Click the Pay (2) button to open the invoice in a new tab

Step 2. Add Your New Credit Card

Once you are on the Pro Forma Invoice page, click on the drop-down menu (1) and choose the Credit Card (2) option

Please keep in mind that we now have two Card payment processors (Braintree and Stripe). We recommend Stripe for a smoother experience.

Depending on what payment processor you choose, the page will reload, and a Continue (Stripe) or Pay Now! (Braintree) button will appear.

Step 3. Enter Your Credit Card Details

Stripe

If you choose Stripe, then the Continue button will appear:

All you need to do is select the Continue button and fill in your CC number, MM/YY, and CVC code:

That’s it. Your Credit Card will be saved for future payments. 

Braintree

If you choose Braintree, then the Pay Now! button will appear:

Enter the required credit card details, including the cardholder’s name. You can also choose to auto-fill (1) the details using the Main Account information. To save your card for future payments on your WPX account, check the Save Credit Card for future payments (2) box:

It is very important that both the address and postal code that you fill in match the bank records for this card.

If the payment is successful—congratulations! Your new credit card has been securely saved to your WPX account for future use.

Step 3. Request Downgrade

In the Control Panel:

1. Select Plan Details
2. Then select the options button (three dots) next to the Upgrade button.
3. Select Downgrade from the dropdown menu.

If your hosting plan is not eligible for downgrade, the Downgrade option from the dropdown menu will be inactive.

Downgrade requirements

1. A hosting downgrade will only be possible at the end of your current billing cycle. – 7 days for monthly plans and 30 days for annual plans.
2. Removing your PayPal subscriptions is a great practice so you can avoid being billed for the higher price of your previous plan (if that happens, yes, we’ll refund the difference between the amount of those two plans).
3. If you’d rather we take care of the whole process, we’ll go ahead and escalate the case to our billing department so they can monitor it (your plan has to be near its due date for that purpose). Please make sure your plan covers the following requirements after the downgrade:
   • If you want to downgrade to our Starter plan, make sure that you have no more than 1 site and no more than 10GB of Disk Space.
   • If you want to downgrade to our Business plan, make sure that you have no more than 5 sites and no more than 20GB of Disk Space.
   • If you want to downgrade to our Professional plan, make sure that you do not have more than 15 sites and less than 40GB of Disk Space usage.
   • If you want to downgrade to our Elite plan, make sure that you do not have more than 35 sites and less than 80GB of Disk Space usage.

Pro-rata refunds are not an available option. More on that can be found in our refund policy article.

Step 1. Log in to your WPX account

Begin by logging into your WPX account. You can do this by visiting the WPX login page.​

Step 2. Select Billing

Once you’re logged into your account, click on Billing (1) to view all invoices, or select View All (2) under Invoices Due (if you have any) on your Home page.

You’ll be taken to the Invoices page, where you can view invoice statuses, payment amounts, payment dates, and due dates.

Step 1. Log in to your WPX account

Step 2. Proceed to Payment

All outstanding invoices are displayed on the Home page of the Control Panel. To complete a payment, click the Pay button next to the corresponding invoice.

To view all your invoices, select the View All button or Billing from the left side menu. There, you’ll find a complete list of invoices associated with your WPX account. To make a payment, simply click the ‘Pay’ button next to the relevant invoice.

Step 3. Select PayPal as your payment method

Within the Pro-forma page:

1. From the drop-down menu, select the PayPal option.
2. Click the PayPal Subscribe button to continue.

On the next screen, select the Debit or Credit Card option if you wish to pay without a PayPal account.

Fill in your Credit Card details below and proceed with the payment.

The billing address you provide must match the one registered with your card-issuing bank.

That’s it! Your invoice will be marked as paid as soon as the funds are received.

To restore your hosting plan and all of your websites, you’ll need to take care of the latest invoice generated by our system.

Your data will be safe with us for up to 90 days after the initial termination date and will be available for restoration.

Step 1. Log in to your WPX account

Begin by logging into your WPX account. You can do this by visiting the WPX login page.​

Step 2. Invoice payment

If the hosting service invoice hasn’t been canceled, you can pay it by clicking the Pay Now button in the pop-up that appears on your Home page after logging in.

If you’ve accidentally dismissed the pop-up, simply follow the steps below to proceed.

Step 3. Restore Hosting Plan

Select the Restore button next to the terminated hosting plan.

If the Restore button is inactive, it means we don’t have any backups available for that hosting plan, and our system won’t be able to recover your data.
Please note that we keep backups of terminated plans for up to 90 days. After this period, all associated data is permanently deleted.

On the pop-up, click on the View Invoices button and complete the payment.

If our system returns a notification pop-up but your invoice status is “canceled,” contact us at support@wpx.net or our LiveChat (we usually respond in 30 seconds or less).

Step 4. Restoration process

After the invoice is paid, please allow some time for our system to restore your hosting plan. Larger plans, such as the Elite, may take longer to fully restore compared to the Business plan.

To avoid service interruptions and manual payments, we strongly recommend setting up an automated payment subscription.

Step 2. Open the Billing menu

Once you log in to your account, select Billing:

You’ll be taken to the Invoices page. Here you can check on the invoice statuses, payment amounts, exact day of payments, and due dates. Select the Pay button to open the invoice in a new tab and proceed with the payment:

You can also directly open the unpaid invoice. Once you log into your WPX account, you will see the unpaid invoice (1) on the home page. Click the Pay (2) button to open the invoice in a new tab

Step 3. PayPal/Credit Card subscriptions

These are the two payment methods that you can use here at WPX. Let’s dive into setting up both of them individually. Please make sure to choose only one of them to avoid being double-charged.

PayPal

That’s by far the most preferred method. It’s super easy to set up as long as you have a PayPal account. Please select the unpaid invoice that covers the hosting plan you’d like to set up a subscription for. You can do that by pressing on the Pay button:

You’ll be taken directly to the Pro Forma Invoice, where you are supposed to set up a subscription. The PayPal Subscribe button is what you’re looking for. Once you authenticate through your PayPal account, you won’t have to worry about any manual transactions later on.

Setting up a subscription after the invoice’s due date is not possible. An invoice is usually issued 5 days before the due date. Please make sure to set one up between the 5 days of the invoice generation and the due date. In case you weren’t able to set up a subscription on time, waiting for the next month’s invoice will be the only viable option.

When you set up a PayPal subscription, recurring payments are collected on the same day of the month/year. However, if PayPal can’t collect the recurring payment, it reattempts in 5 days. If this first reattempt fails, PayPal waits 5 days to reattempt a second time. If the second reattempt fails, PayPal cancels the subscription.

Credit Card

Please keep in mind that we now have two Card payment processors (Braintree and Stripe). We recommend Stripe for a smoother experience.

Stripe

Once on the Pro Forma Invoice page, click on the drop-down menu (1) and choose the Credit Card (2) option (Braintree or Stripe).

This option is going to reload the page, and you will see the Continue button.

All you need to do is select the Continue button and fill in your CC number, MM/YY, and CVC code:

That’s it. Your Credit Card will be saved for future payments.
