How does WPX notify you that your domain name is about to expire?

Our system will automatically send you a reminder email to your WPX account email near the date of expiry of the domain name. The reminder email will only be sent to the account owner, not the domain owner.

The first domain expiration reminder email will be sent 45 days before the expiration date. After that, a new reminder will be sent every week until the final week before expiration. In that final week before your domain’s expiration date, daily reminder emails will be sent.

When your domain name has finally reached its expiration date, it will be deactivated, and you will no longer be able to access it.

What happens after my Domain expires?

A grace period will begin, during this time, you will have the chance to renew your domain name. You will have a 40-day grace period in which to renew your global TLD at a normal price.

After this initial grace period, a 30-day redemption period will begin, and the domain price will be higher than normal. This is your last chance for renewal.

Finally, the domain will enter a 5-day pending state awaiting deletion; during this time, you cannot restore your domain, and it will be available for registration to the public.

The grace period will differ depending on which type of domain and/or Registry you have. Please be aware of how much time you will have within this grace period to renew your domain.

After this grace period ends, your domain will be deleted.

What can I do to prevent my domain from expiring?

WPX strongly encourages you to renew your domain name before its expiration date. Leaving your domain renewal too late is risky, and even during the grace period, having enough time for renewal is not guaranteed.

How do I enable renewal invoices to be generated automatically for my domain?

To enable automatic renewal invoice generation, ensure the renewal invoice option is activated. On the Domains page (1), select the Settings option (2) for the domain that you want:

If you had the option enabled and the invoice was generated, but you don’t want this domain name to be renewed, contact the WPX Support Team via ticket, so they can cancel the invoice.

If the invoice gets automatically paid by your Credit Card and your domain name is renewed, WPX won’t be able to refund that invoice.

In case you didn’t receive such an email within the next 48 hours of the registration/transfer, please contact the WPX support team to resend it.

All of your domains that use the same email address will be put on hold if the Registrant’s email is not verified.
