We do <\/strong>have a built-in File Manager<\/a><\/strong> which has been developed for our clients’ convenience; however, having an external solution is a necessity. Instead of sharing sensitive hosting account information, you can simply create an FTP account that can, later on, be accessed through an FTP client such as FileZilla.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You will need an FTP user to make a successful connection using FileZilla (please make sure to download and install FileZilla first). If you haven’t created an FTP user yet, we have an article covering that topic as well<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 1. Log in to your WPX account<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Begin by logging into your WPX account. You can do this by visiting the WPX login page<\/a>.\u200b<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 2. Go to Control Panel<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Once logged in:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Locate your hosting plan in the WPX client area.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Click the Control Panel<\/strong> button next to the plan you wish to manage.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    If you have more than five hosting plans of the same type (WordPress, Agency or WooCommerce), not all may appear on the homepage. Use the WordPress Hosting<\/strong>, Agency Hosting<\/strong> or WooCommerce Hosting<\/strong> tab in the left-hand menu to find your service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Step 3. FTP Users & Files <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    Within the Control Panel: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    • Select FTP Users & Files <\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Then copy the FTP\/SFTP server information that you’ll need to log in using FileZilla.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

      To manage files more easily, you can use the File Manager<\/strong>, which is located within the same section – FTP Users & Files. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

      You will need: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

      1. SFTP Server Host<\/strong> – in our example, sftp:\/\/s24.wpx.net<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      2. SFTP Server Port<\/strong> – always 2222<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      3. FTP User: <\/strong>Username & Password <\/li>\n\n\n\n
      4. <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

        Step 4. Connect with FileZilla <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

        Now that you have the FTP\/SFTP details, you’re ready to access your site files through FileZilla. There are things you should keep in mind shown in the screenshot below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        As shown in the image, using ‘sftp:\/\/<\/strong>‘ before the Hostname and port: 2222<\/strong> will establish a secure connection. If you’d like to go for a regular non-secure FTP connection, just make sure to add the hostname along with FTP’s classic port: 21<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        That’s it! You have accessed your WordPress site files and directories. You can proceed with any further changes that you’d like to apply.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
