A TXT (Text) record<\/strong> is a type of DNS record used to store text information, most commonly for domain verification and email security. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

For example, services like Google or Microsoft may ask you to add a TXT record to confirm that you own your domain. TXT records are also used for SPF, DKIM, and DMARC<\/strong> – email authentication methods that help prevent spam and spoofing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Even though TXT records aren\u2019t visible to regular visitors, they play an important role behind the scenes in keeping your domain safe and trusted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this guide, we\u2019ll walk you through how to add a TXT <\/strong>record via the WPX Control Panel<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 1. Log in to your WPX account<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Begin by logging into your WPX account. You can do this by visiting the WPX login page<\/a>.\u200b<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 2. Go to Control Panel<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Once logged in:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Locate your hosting plan in the WPX client area.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Click the Control Panel<\/strong> button next to the plan you wish to manage.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    If you have more than five hosting plans of the same type (WordPress, Agency or WooCommerce), not all may appear on the homepage. Use the WordPress Hosting<\/strong>, Agency Hosting<\/strong> or WooCommerce Hosting<\/strong> tab in the left-hand menu to find your service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Step 3. Navigate to the DNS Editor<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    1. Select the Edit DNS<\/strong> section.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    2. Select the website<\/strong> to which you want to add a TXT <\/strong>record.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    3. Click on the +Create Record<\/strong> button to add a new record.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      In the same section, you can see all <\/strong>DNS records added for the selected website<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Step 4. Add the TXT record<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

      After clicking the +Create Record<\/strong> button, a new setup area will appear, allowing you to add your TXT record<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      1. Select the Type <\/strong>of the record to be TXT (Text)<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      2. Add the Host<\/strong> name.
        – Leave it blank for the root domain (domain.com<\/em>).
        – For a subdomain like example.domain.com<\/em>, enter \u201cexample<\/em>\u201d.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      3. Add Value\/Target <\/strong>for the destination domain (e.g., example.com<\/em> or custom.target.com<\/em>).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      4. Click on the Create <\/strong>button.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

        In case you’re adding an SPF record, please note that only one SPF record is allowed per domain. If there’s already an existing SPF record, you\u2019ll need to include the new value within that existing record rather than creating a separate one.
        As this type of change needs to be handled manually, please contact our support team and they\u2019ll assist you with the update.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        TTL (Time to Live) is a setting in DNS records that defines how long a record is cached before the system checks for updates. It\u2019s measured in seconds. You can leave it on the default value.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        That’s it. If all of the fields are correctly filled then you will see a note that the TXT is successfully added. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

        How can I check if the record I\u2019ve added is working?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

        A TXT record<\/strong> becomes active once it has propagated across DNS servers, which can take anywhere from a few minutes to 48 hours<\/strong>. You can verify the TXT records currently in use for your domain using an online tool<\/a><\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
