First, let’s check what Domain Forward is and why you would need it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Domain Forwarding is closer to a 301\/302 redirect however, it can only redirect to a page or a subdomain<\/strong>.
For example, with newdomain.com<\/em> being forwarded to domain.com<\/em>, subdomains will also be redirected straight to their counterpart\u2019s webpage. This means that newdomain.com<\/em> will redirect to domain.com<\/em>, and newdomain.com\/contact-us<\/em> will redirect to domain.com\/contact-us<\/em>. Similarly, blog.newdomain.com<\/em> will redirect to blog.domain.com<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let’s see how to add a Domain Forward with us:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 1. Log in to your WPX account<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Begin by logging into your WPX account. You can do this by visiting the WPX login page<\/a>.\u200b<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 2. Domain Settings<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Within the Control Panel:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Select Domains <\/strong>from the main side navigation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Click the Settings <\/strong>button<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    You\u2019ll land on the following page, which shows many details about the domain you\u2019ve selected to manage. Here, you need to select a Domain Forwarding<\/strong> option:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Now you need to select from the dropdown menu(1)<\/strong> http:\/\/ or https”\/\/ and fill in the domain(2)<\/strong> that you want your selected domain (in our case wpxexample.net) and all subdomains to be forwarded to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Then you need to select the Save Changes<\/strong> button, and that’s it. You’ve successfully added a Domain forward!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Here are a few important notes on Domain Forwarding:<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    • Using Domain Forwarding, you can redirect your domain to a certain page<\/strong>; newdomain.com<\/em> could forward to domain.com\/newpage<\/em> if you so choose.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Domain Forwarding is also SEO-friendly and highly recommended if you have moved your website to a new domain.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • If WPX is not your domain registrar<\/strong>, then you must set up Domain Forwarding with your current domain registrar<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Some domain registrars offer Domain Forwarding with masking<\/strong>, but not many do so.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • With Domain Forwarding, it\u2019s possible to use a mail service however, this is not possible with WPX Hosting. You will have to hire a 3rd party mail service and contact us to set its DNS records correctly.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • If we are<\/em> your domain registrar, keep in mind that not all options are available within the Domains<\/strong> menu on your Hosting Dashboard. If you need something to be set specifically, all you have to do is to contact our Support Team with your request.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Note that this option also does NOT consume a hosting slot<\/strong> in your account.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
