Once you’ve purchased a hosting plan with us, the next step is to migrate your websites to WPX. The process is simple – just fill out our migration form, and we’ll handle all the technical details while you sit back and relax.
In some cases, you may also choose to move your site to a new domain name, depending on your needs. To do so, simply select the domain change option in the migration form. Once your request is approved, our migration experts will complete the transfer within 24 hours
What is a migration with a domain name change?
A Domain Name Change Migration applies when a website’s domain or URL is changed from one domain to another (e.g., abc.com to 123.com or shop.abc.com to 123.com/shop).
This option is ideal for both new and existing customers looking to update their business identity with a new domain name.
How to locate the migration form?
To request an Express migration, a regular one, or a migration with a domain name change, simply fill out our migration form. You can access it directly here: Here!
Make sure you’re logged into your WPX account before proceeding.
Otherwise, to find the migration form in your WPX account, look for the Migration button in the navigation bar -it’s always visible, no matter which menu you’re in.
You will be able to select the migration type through the form (express, normal, or with a domain name change):
- Free Site Migration (completed within 24 hours)
- Express Site Migration (skipping the migration queue, completed as soon as possible.)
- Domain Name Change Migration (This applies when a website’s domain or URL is changed from one domain to another)
What happens when I select a migration with a domain name change?
If you have selected the domain name change service, please note that, as per our Terms of Service, this is a paid service. The cost for a domain name change migration is US$98 (VAT Excl.). A new invoice will be automatically generated for this service. Once the invoice is paid, a ticket will be opened, and the migration will be completed within 24 hours.
Please note that migrations involving a change of domain name are not always 100% guaranteed due to the possibility of hard-coded URLs within the website’s database. If we are unable to complete the migration for this reason, you will receive a full refund of the amount paid for the service.
