How can I enable/disable the WPX XDN on my websites?

This article is a step-by-step guide to help you enable/disable WPX XDN on your websites.

Step 1. Log in to your WPX account

Begin by logging into your WPX account. You can do this by visiting the WPX login page.

Step 2. Go to Control Panel

Once logged in:

  1. Locate your hosting plan in the WPX client area.
  2. Click the Control Panel button next to the plan you wish to manage.

If you have more than five hosting plans of the same type (WordPress, Agency or WooCommerce), not all may appear on the homepage. Use the WordPress Hosting, Agency Hosting or WooCommerce Hosting tab in the left-hand menu to find your service.

Step 3. Enable/ Disable WPX XDN

How to enable WPX XDN?

Within the Control Panel:

  1. Select WPX XDN
  2. Then, under status, click the toggle to enable/ disable XDN for the specific site.

After activating the XDN, it will take approximately ONE HOUR for your website’s content to be copied and distributed throughout the XDN network.

How to disable WPX XDN?

You can use the same toggle to disable WPX XDN. If your domain is pointed to WPX using NS records, you don’t have to do anything else.

However, if you pointed your domain to WPX using A records, you need to follow the steps below before disabling WPX XDN to avoid downtime.

1. Add two A records for @ (same as domain) and www hostnames and point them to the origin server IP. The origin Server IP can be found in your Service details next to the Server IP Address text.

2. We would recommend waiting a couple of hours so the records can propagate and avoid any downtime.

3. After that, delete the four A records that pointed to the XDN IP addresses to stop using our XDN service.

4. Click on the Toggle button to disable WPX XDN.
