How can I install WordPress on my subdomain?

Installing WordPress on a subdomain is very simple and can be done with just a few clicks. We have simplified the installation process for WordPress via our Hosting Panel. Let’s go!

Step 1. Log in to your WPX account

Begin by logging into your WPX account. You can do this by visiting the WPX login page.

Step 2. Go to Control Panel

Once logged in:

  1. Locate your hosting plan in the WPX client area.
  2. Click the Control Panel button next to the plan you wish to manage.

If you have more than five hosting plans of the same type (WordPress, Agency or WooCommerce), not all may appear on the homepage. Use the WordPress Hosting, Agency Hosting or WooCommerce Hosting tab in the left-hand menu to find your service.

The first step would be to create a subdomain for which you can install WordPress. If you have already done that, then you can skip to Step 4.

Step 3. Create a Subdomain and install WordPress

Within the Control Panel, click on the +Create Website button.

Select the New Site block and fill in the site setup information. You can type in your subdomain under WordPress setup and complete the installation.

Click on the Create button and continue working in the Control Panel after closing the In Progress notification.

Our system will add the subdomain with WordPress as a background process. Once everything is completed, you’ll receive a notification.

That’s it! You have successfully created a subdomain with WordPress installed on it.

Step 4. Reinstall WordPress

There’s also an option to reinstall the already existing WordPress installation from your subdomain. Keep in mind that you’ll see this option only if there’s an active WordPress installation.

You have two options to follow when you already have one installed on your subdomain. First is to reinstall it, to completely replace the existing one and rewrite any changes that you made before by simply selecting Install WordPress (1).

The second option is to install one in a subdirectory (subfolder), which would be an entirely new WordPress installation as part of the already existing one. You can do that by choosing Install in Subdirectory (2). More on the topic of installing WP on subdirectories can be found here.

Reinstalling would require the same process of choosing a new username, email address, and password after selecting the Install WordPress button.
