What is an alias site?
An alias is an alternate name for a webpage or resource that is used to make it easier for users to find or remember. The alias site will display the content of the original site in the browser.
Here are a few important things that you should know about aliases
- Aliases do not take Website slots.
- An alias site will use the DNS zone of the original site.
- You can install an SSL certificate to an Alias, but it has to be manually included the first time. You can do that by installing a Custom SSL certificate
- The alias site will display the content of the original website
- Aliases can have their own email boxes that won’t be affected by the original website.
Step 1. Log in to your WPX account
Begin by logging into your WPX account. You can do this by visiting the WPX login page.
Step 2. Go to Control Panel
Once logged in:
- Locate your hosting plan in the WPX client area.
- Click the Control Panel button next to the plan you wish to manage.

Step 3. Add an alias site
In the Control Panel:
- Click the Create Website button.
- Then select the Empty or Alias Site block.

Fill in the Alias site setup as shown in the screenshot below.
- Select Alias of.
- Then, from the dropdown, choose a parent domain that uses WPX nameservers.
- Type in the alias site name.
- Tick the option With own e-mail.
- And when you’re ready, click on the Create button.
