Not Based on cPanel — And Never Was

Let’s clear something up: WPX has never used cPanel. 

While cPanel remains an industry standard, it’s often cluttered, slow, and designed with server admins in mind, not WordPress site owners, creators, or entrepreneurs who need to get things done quickly and efficiently.

Our previous Control Panel was already a huge improvement over cPanel in terms of speed, clarity, and usability. But we knew it wasn’t perfect. We saw room to go even further, to create something new and far more intuitive.

Smarter Navigation

One of the biggest frustrations users faced was finding what they needed quickly. That’s why we reorganized the layout to put everything exactly where you expect it, right in front of you. Each section is clearly labeled, visually clean, and logically grouped, so you don’t have to dig through submenus or click six times just to get to your backups or email settings.

More Tooltips and Information Blocks

One of the most common pieces of feedback we heard was: 

“I wish there was more explanation.” 

So we listened. 

In the new Control Panel, you’ll find clear tooltips wherever you might need extra context, plus informational blocks at the top of every section to guide you through the most important actions. Whether you’re setting up DNS records, managing backups, or enabling Redis, you’ll never be left wondering what a button does or what step to take next.

And if we missed something? Let us know. This Control Panel was shaped by your feedback, and we intend to keep improving with you in mind.

Custom Hosting & Domain Labels

Managing multiple hosting plans and domains? We’ve made it way easier to keep everything organized. With the new WPX Control Panel, you can now add custom labels to each of your hosting services or domains.

So instead of trying to remember which one is “myclientsites” and which one is “testblogs” you can simply label them:

•  “John’s Portfolio”
•  “Redesign”

Even better? These labels are searchable. Just type into the search bar at the top of the dashboard, and you’ll instantly find the site or domain you’re looking for. No scrolling, no second-guessing.

Easy Access to Site Migration & Optimization Forms 

Need to migrate a site or request performance help? We’ve made that process easier than ever. Both the Site Migration and Optimization Request forms are now clearly placed in the top navigation menu of your WPX Control Panel.

But it’s not just about location. Both forms are now freshly redesigned for clarity and ease of use.

A Better WordPress Installation Experience

We redesigned our WordPress installation wizard to be clean, guided, and super intuitive, so whether it’s your 1st install or your 50th, the process is quick, straightforward, and stress-free. 

Select your path and follow the process.

But it doesn’t stop there. Once your site’s up, you can launch straight into your WordPress dashboard right from the WPX Control Panel. Just click the WP Admin button next to your site, log in, and you’re in.

You can also make root or subdirectory installs and manage plugins, themes, and WordPress core automatic updates.

Preview Sites Safely with Temp URL

One of the perks of the new WPX Control Panel is the ability to preview your website using a Temp URL before making any DNS changes. This means you can check how your site looks and works on our servers without pointing your domain. It’s a simple way to preview your site’s functionality, design, or any recent changes and share it across your team. Just click the Temp URL button, and you’re good to go!

Improved SSL Manager

Security is crucial, so we grouped all you need to know about SSL Certificates in a separate menu to make installation clearer and faster. You can install a free SSL certificate with just one click, no technical steps, no fuss.

Instant Staging Environments

Need a testing ground? With just a couple of clicks, you can create a staging version of your site, test changes safely, and then merge it with the live site without breaking a sweat.

Smarter File & FTP Management

Managing FTP users or accessing your site’s files is now cleaner and more intuitive. Whether you’re uploading themes or troubleshooting issues, the interface helps you get it done faster.

Backups You Can Count On
