An email catch-all is a feature that captures all emails sent to any unknown or misspelled email addresses under your domain and delivers them to a specific mailbox that you designate as the catch-all.
For example:
If you have an email address like test@wpxexample.net
and someone sends an email to contact@wpxexample.net
or user@wpxexample.net
— addresses that don’t exist — those emails will still be delivered to test@wpxexample.net
If that mailbox is set as your catch-all.
Benefits of Using a Catch-All
- Unlimited aliases: It acts like an unlimited number of email aliases without needing to create each one individually.
- Never miss an email: You won’t lose emails sent to misspelled or random addresses under your domain.
Things to Consider
- Spam risk: Because the catch-all mailbox receives emails sent to any address at your domain, it may attract more spam and unwanted messages.
- Inbox management: You may need to spend extra time filtering and managing your emails.
