How can I install a Commercial (paid) SSL certificate ?

This article will guide you through the process of installing a Commercial SSL certificate (i.e., a paid SSL) using your Control Panel.

What do you need to install a Commercial SSL Certificate?

Before beginning the installation, make sure you have the following files from your SSL provider:

  1. CRT (Certificate) – The actual SSL certificate file.
  2. Private Key – A unique key that works with your certificate to enable encryption.
  3. CA Bundle (Certificate Authority Bundle) – A chain of certificates that ensures compatibility across all major web browsers.

Step 1. Log in to your WPX account

Begin by logging into your WPX account. You can do this by visiting the WPX login page.

Step 2. Go to Control Panel

Once logged in:

  1. Locate your hosting plan in the WPX client area.
  2. Click the Control Panel button next to the plan you wish to manage.

If you have more than five hosting plans of the same type (WordPress, Agency or WooCommerce), not all may appear on the homepage. Use the WordPress Hosting, Agency Hosting or WooCommerce Hosting tab in the left-hand menu to find your service.

Step 3. Install Commercial Certificate

Inside the Control Panel:

  1. Go to the SSL Certificates section.
  2. Select the website you want to secure.
  1. Click on the Import Certificate tab.
  2. Once all fields are filled, click Install.

Ensure you copy/paste the certificate files exactly as provided, including headers and footers.

Avoid adding extra spaces or blank lines, as this will cause installation errors.

A green confirmation message will appear in the top-right corner once the certificate is successfully installed.

Step 4: (Optional) Configure HTTPS

Fixing Mixed Content Issues

After installing your SSL certificate, your site may still load some resources over HTTP. This is called Mixed Content and can cause browser security warnings.

To resolve this:

  1. Install and activate the Really Simple SSL plugin in WordPress.
  2. The plugin will automatically configure your site to load content securely over HTTPS.

A detailed guide on enabling HTTPS can be found here

Using Cloudflare?

If you’re using Cloudflare with your website, make sure you’ve correctly configured SSL there as well. You can follow our dedicated guide:
